To join National Defence Academy (NDA) a candidate must appear in the entrance exam conducted by Union Public Service Commission, New Delhi, twice a year. The Union Public Service Commission is solely responsible for issuing guidelines for selection and the final conduct of the entrance examination.

NDA Examination Pattern
NDA is the two-level exam. The first level is the written exam conducted by UPSC and the next level is the SSB interview conducted by Staff Selection Board of the Defence services. Only those candidates can take level two exam who have qualified for the Level 1 exam.
NDA written exam paper has two sections
Mathematics (Objective type): 300 Marks
General Ability Test (Objective type): 600 Marks
Total marks for written examination: 900 Marks
Total marks for Interview round: 900 Marks

- There will be negative marking for every wrong answer.
- Paper I-Mathematics and Part B of Paper II question papers are available in both English and Hindi.
